Do you like what you see with this stamp and paper? These were an April only special, but they will be back in the new Big Catalog and Idea Book on July 1st!!

This last card is a Gift Card holder. With Graduation and Wedding season upon us I thought the ladies would like to have an example to make gift card holders according to their needs. I have actually made this style many times and it is amazing how you can change it up just by switching out your paper and ink colors and you stamp set. The ideas are endless!

Remember When

Thursday, April 28, 2011
Craft Sale Season is generally not until the fall season, but if I wait until fall or even late summer to get started I will go bonkers so as the ideas come across my path I set them aside or make them up so I have a head start, but I must admit I am having a hard time making Santa Claus/Christmas items. I can't say that journals are my BEST sellers, but when I saw how these were decorated I KNEW that I had to make them because they are GORGEOUS! and CLASSY!!

This journal was inspired by Julie Marshall, and I think it is my favorite. The designer paper is called Night and Day and is on the Clearance Rack. Click HERE to shop my Stampin' Up! website, and take a look at the Clearance Rack, you might find exactly what you have been looking for, and I must admit - the price is RIGHT!!

This second journal was inspired by Deana. I love the look of the brown with pink. Instead of Designer Paper I stamped the floral from Embrace Life on Crumb Cake card stock with Early Espresso ink. Deana actually added a bunch of ribbon roses and pearls to hers, but I was thinking "less may be more" in this situation. I still love the look!

Blessed Easter

Sunday, April 24, 2011
Praying you are enjoying the most marvelous celebration of all ...
Jesus has Risen!!! and He lives for you and for me!!

At Church today we will enjoy our wonderful choir sing praise through the story of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. I wish you all could join us. After this we will have a baptism. What a wonderful picture of what Christ did for us as they identify with Christ's death, burial and resurrection through baptism.

As parents of adult children we have to share our children with their in-laws and this is our year "off". When it is our year to have everyone we do a little Easter Egg Hunt for Tyler and Gracie, but this year they will have their Egg Hunt with Grandma Fran. So I made these door hangers for them to find on their bedroom door knobs when they wake up.

Thankfully I still have both my parents living and healthy in their 80's and we will enjoy a delicious Easter Dinner with them and my oldest sister and her husband. Oh yes, our youngest son has no in-laws so we get him this year too!!

Step Card Technique

Wednesday, April 20, 2011
At this months techniques class I think I am channeling Dawn Griffith as I have watched so many of her how-to videos. I first saw this step card technique on Dawn's site however it was opposite with the "steps" being on the right. Then I saw Lois Phoenix do this same technique using the stamp set called Uncharted Territory and I knew the ladies would love this masculine card.

This is the first time I have used the Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink and I must say that I LOVE it!! I wish I had tried it earlier. It comes in three different colors... Gold Lame` #119968, Moonlight (White) #119969, and Silver Fox #119967 for only $4.95 each. They also sell an Illuminate top Coat #121084 for $5.50 which I have not played with yet. But like I said before - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink!

Our grandson, Tyler, just completed his first "belt test" in karate. He now has the white with purple stripe belt. His Karate Master said that Tyler tested VERY WELL - we are so very proud of him. In fact Tyler will be walking in the Memorial Day Parade this year with his karate class. I am looking forward to being the proud Gramma sitting on the sidelines as he walks by.

Here he is showing me the proper way to tie his belt

And this is the card that I made for Tyler, congratulating him on his good test.

Easter Cards for kids

Sunday, April 17, 2011

I saw this idea last year at Easter time and was wanting to use it for the kids for their Easter cards. I loved it when Stampin' Up! came out with the Sweet Treat Cups and then some smarty (I wish it were me) came up with this idea using the empty casing from a Tombo refill. They are shaped very similar to a carrot (well, close enough).
Now how clever is that!!!!

INK: Staz On Jet Black, Markers
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF,
Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon and Orange candy of course.

The Many Faces of Charlie

Friday, April 15, 2011
This is a card lay out that I cased from Dawn Griffith's wonderful blog. You can check her card out as well as her how-to video by clicking HERE.

This is my take on Dawn's card...

I had a bunch of pictures leftover that I took when Charlie was a baby that I didn't use in my scrapbook so thought this would be a fun way to highlight them. Charlie's mom was thrilled when I gave it to her.

While looking through the extra pictures I had some other ones of some little girls who had "graduated" from Auntie Christi's Daycare so thought I would make a card up for them too, to let them know I was thinking of them. The three photos in the middle are my two grandchildren and one other girl they played with while here.

Now my head is spinning - I'm thinking graduations, weddings etc. to make a card extra personal

Another Easter Card

Thursday, April 14, 2011
Another Easter card for 2011

Inspired By: Andrea Vernagus this is a card idea I had saved from last year and then the stamp set Special Blessings was retired but it didn't deter me...I still loved this idea and lay out so I wanted to use it as one of the Easter cards I was sending out this year. It also gave me a chance to use up some retired paper and ribbon colors.

And then there was this idea found on silkeledlow.blogspot.com. I thought this one had more of a masculine feel and I wanted to use it for some of the guys I would be mailing an Easter card to.

Always rejoicing in the fact that we serve a RISEN SAVIOR!!

Special Treat

Wednesday, April 13, 2011
At last nights Stamp A Stack class I had a total of nine ladies. Jackie is a regular, and Kylin first came to last month's classes. She had so much fun that this month she brought her co-workers with her. I have never felt so safe as all 8 of these ladies are nurses!! I'm sure at some point in time they probably helped us out with either birthing my three babies or when our boys were sick and spent several days on several occasions at Zeeland Community Hospital.

Kylin brought me a gift... saying they were a rowdy bunch and it was a "peace" offering. I laughed!! How sweet is that! Thank you Kylin!
I can see why they all have so much fun working together.

I can hardly wait to use my new Pink Grapefruit hand soup.

What a joy it was to have her as our first baby all those years ago, and now she has been a mom herself for nearly 9 years. How the time flies!!

Home School Project

Saturday, April 9, 2011
There is a HUGE number of families in our church that are home schoolers. This is great because right within the body of believers they have a great support system. About a year or so ago they asked me to show the girls some cake decorating tips, and now this year they have asked me to put together card kits for the girls to make up as a project. They are encouraging the girls to think of others and sending cards is the one of the BEST ways to encourage someone who is sick or home bound. This is why they asked that both cards would say "Praying for You."

I started with this card idea, but they decided against the bear and asked if I had a butterfly stamp.

Do I have a butterfly stamp??? you bet - at least one!!

Color combo: Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Sweet and Sour DSP

This next card is so bright and cheery that it is sure to make the receivers feel bright and cheery

Color Combo: Tempting Turquoise, Confetti White, Melon Mambo

I hope the girls enjoy their card making project.
