Okay, so I can't count...
I made 12 squares instead of 9...oops!
This card was made with the help of My Digital Studio!
I was able to enlarge the Christmas Lodge, color it in to my liking
and then printed it out.  I smooshed the entire image with
Versa Mark then used and old Stampin' Up! product called
Glassy Glaze, heated it up, then I did three more coats of
Versa Mark, Glaze, etc.  Then I popped it in the freezer.
When I took  it out I cut it into equal one inch squares and
mounted it on some Early Espresso card stock.  THEN...
I bent it a bit so the little frozen pieces cracked.
This is called CRACKED GLASS TECHNIQUE
I thought the sketch challenge looked like a window so
this is what popped in my head to create
I hope you like it

see... this is the sketch we had to work with...

now pop on over to the Red Hot Stampers blog to see what
the other gals did with this sketch

Haha! you can see that my kitchen still isn't finished! Dale got sidelined by
a job he had to do for a family whose drop ceiling in their basement fell.
What a mess! but he is thankful to be able to be their landlord/custodian
for the renters.  Bet they were surprised to have their ceiling fall in!!
Maybe I will be able to show you more progress soon.

Owl Treat Box

Friday, September 28, 2012
Thought I would share another craft sale item that we will have at this years booth.
Owls really seem to be the IN thing this year.  I fell in love with them as soon as
I purchased the Owl Builder Punch from Stampin' Up!  I know you have seen me
use it a TON with my punch art and you certainly will be seeing more!!

This cute idea I saw on Stampin' Connection (by Ilina Crouse). This is a demonstrator
only idea site and it is definitely my favorite place to find amazing ideas!
If you want to have access to all the ideas, why not purchase the $99
starter kit and become a part of Christi's Crew and have all the benefits
of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - even if all you want to do is be
a hobbyist.  It is such a fabulous deal - hard to pass up.

The Designer Paper I used is from International Bazaar $10.95 126920
12 sheets: 2 ea. of 6 double-sided designs.
12" x 12". Acid- and lignin-free.

Blessings From Heaven

Thursday, September 27, 2012
I have been sharing so many craft sale items lately that I thought
I better post a card for today.
This card features an often forgotten color - Perfect Plum
I embossed the base card with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
The Top Note is cut from So Saffron Designer Paper in the Subtles Collection
Stamp Sets: Fabulous Florets and Blessings From Heaven
I stamped the flower on Vellum using Versa Mark and White Embossing
Powder then cut them out.
Did you know that you can color your Basic Rhinestones and Pearls with a Sharpie Permanant Marker?  I did some with a golden color and some with purple.  Of course you could just keep your rhinestones irridescent, but I wanted to play around a bit.
My Double Bow was made using the Double D Bow Maker that my buddy
Dean made for me.  He sells them, by the way, for only $7.50
Click HERE to find one of those

 Christmas in September??
YES!!
I wanted to share a cute card I made using this
retired Stamp Set called WANDERING WORDS.

Yes, it is retired, but I am selling my used set for only $10.00. (plus shipping if required)
I teamed it up with the current LOVELY AS A TREE Stamp Set and I love the outcome
However, I did case it from another talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Gerry Stutz

First come first served!  If you like this card and would like this stamp
set for yourself please email me at
christiwaite@gmail.com or comment on this blog and we will make the
proper arrangements to get it to you.

I am super excited to share this Sketch Challenge with you all this week because
I also get to share with you some photos of my grandson, Tyler,
who we are so very proud of.
On to the Sketch Challenge...
This is what we had to work with this week...

and this is my take on it...

About three weeks ago I was privileged to watch our grandson earn his
BROWN BELT in KARATE!
So this card was inspired by Tylers belt test, and the punch art Karate Kid was inspired by Brenda Ballesteros. I put the progression of belt colors on the card, Purple, green, red, brown (card base), Black (oval).  I embossed the front with the Stripes Embossing Folder because each color belt also has a stripe.  EX: purple, then purple with white stripes, Green, Green with white stripes and so on until they hit BLACK BELT, and although BLACK does not have stripes it does have 10 different levels. After 4 levels it gets a thin red stripe and you qualify as a Master.  I wonder how far Tyler will go??

Numchucks
He even got to go a round with his friend Taylor.

Sparing

Receiving his certificates from Master Rick

A Proud day for the whole family
Putting on his  new BROWN BELT

Tyler and Taylor
They both did a fabulous job and we are so proud of him to be a BROWN BELT at 10 years old!!

Angry Bird Poop

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Only one week before our first Craft Sale of the season.
Actually, Sue will be at the Zeeland Christian Craft Sale in Zeeland MI
today if you happen to live in our area I bet she would love to have
you stop in to check it out.  I am gone for the weekend to the TRUE WOMEN
Conference in Chicago.and it will be the first time since I started craft sales
that I will not be at this one.
Thankfully I will be at FREEDOM CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
in Hudsonville next weekend and this is one of the Angry Bird items that
we will be selling.
I snagged this idea from Danee Hoang
but she computer generated her Angry Bird on My Digital Studio
and I decided to make mine 3D.  The words, however,
ARE computer generated.
The little circle stamped on the topper is simply by using
a new eraser on a pencil.  It is the perfect circle and I have
used this idea many times.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Hope to see you at the
Craft Sale next week!!

First Day of Fall

Friday, September 21, 2012
Today is the very first full day of Fall!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Fall season!
The weather is so beautiful and life tends to take on a "normal" routine.
The only sad thing about saying good-bye to Summer is the fact that I can
no longer wear my white capris.  I put them on the first day of Spring and
during Spring and Summer I wear them the majority of the time.
So good bye sweet Capris I will see you again next Spring (sigh)
So I thought I should share a Fall inspired card with you
(inspired by Charlene Boyachek)
MENU:
SS: Gently Falling, Countryside, Teeny Tiny Wishes
CS: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Watercolor Paper
INK: Stazon, Cajun Craze Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Garden Green
Accessories: Buttons, Linen Thread, Aqua Painter, Markers in
Crumb Cake and Real Red

Popcorn Anyone?

Thursday, September 20, 2012
As I was shopping in our local craft store I ran into another gal who attends our church.  She is also an elementary school teacher and she was out trying to find the perfect item for her popcorn themed board for the kids. When she saw me the 'light went on' and she was wondering why she hadn't asked me for help in the first place.  I told her I had an idea in my head for popcorn, but actually I had seen a card by Julia Leece from New Zealand (who was casing the idea from Julie Japes)(see, I'm not the only one!!) using the Cupcake stamp set and punch teamed up with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make buckets of popcorn.  I went home and revamped it to my liking, turned it into a gift card holder and WOW!  I really like it!  Another great idea for a guy teacher.
Oh, And By The Way...my friend from church loved it too, she said it was perfect!
Don't you just love it when it all works out!!

Actually, our son Joey and our grandson Tyler are HUGE popcorn fans
perhaps I will have to revamp these and personalize them a bit for my
popcorn lovin' guys!

Thanks For Poppin' By!

By The Seashore

Wednesday, September 19, 2012
Thank You to my friend, Sue, who loaned me her BY THE SEASHORE
stamp set.  She is really drawn to the sea themed stamps and I generally
am not so it didn't surprise me when she ordered this set.
When I saw these cards made up by Penny Smiley

I wanted to make them up as a Thank You to our church secretary
who had all of the church staff to their new home for a wonderful time
of food and fun.  Their new house sits on a very
peaceful private lake and it is GORGEOUS!!
This is the card I made for them...

I seldom make just one of a kind cards, but I didn't necessarily want all
of them to say "Thanks" so the rest of them looked like this...

I never would have thought of the tone on tone for the words but it looks very elegant
The letters were cut using the Big Shot and the Timeless Type (retired) alphabet sizzlits

I loved the simplicity of this next card and on all of them I used the Wood Grain
Embossing Folder, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake
A little Champagne Glass Glitter gives the sand dollar the look of sand
stuck to the edges.

I made up these 3x3's and although I really liked them I decided to add
a little thanks to this as well and use it for the thank you notes I add to all
the orders each month.  See, another perk for shopping with me!!
These letters were also cut with the Big Shot but instead I used
the Naturally Serif Decorative Strip Die Sizzlit (also retired)
One thing I have learned - retired or not, I never get rid of my alphabets
or word stamps.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Have a Peaceful Day!!

Turtle and Co

Tuesday, September 18, 2012
TURTLE AND CO. was the 2011-2012 Ronald McDonald featured Stamp Set,
and I had a few more cards I wanted to make up with it before saying 'good-bye'.
Inspired By Anne Marie Hile

This one features some Designer Paper from Sale A Bration
I loved that paper, and am hoping come the end of January when Sale A Bration
starts again that they will have another fun designer paper available

Inspired By Jamie Hurley
I love the turtle but my little 5 year old niece loves the frog so when
I made this card I was thinking of little Sylvia

No, I did NOT mess up and put the turtle upside down!!
This poor little guy just needs to get back on his feet again soon!
Which is what the greeting says on the inside.
Inspired by Dawn Griffith
Check out this cool technique.  It is called Faux Alligator Skin
or Faux Reptile Skin.  I first saw it on Dawn's blog but have seen it
many more times since then.  I think it gives the card that extra little something

Baby Boy Treat Bag

Monday, September 17, 2012
This is a fun Baby treat to sell at the Craft Sales
I had some of these small bags on hand from a previous holiday catalog
and never used them (shame on me), but when I saw this cute
idea from Anke Hamsch from Germany I revamped it just enough
to suit my needs, added some "It's a Boy" mints in each bag and
tied the ribbon nice and loose so that whoever chooses to buy
one of these all they need to do is untie, add another small gift
or a gift card and they are all set.
I had just enough retired Designer Paper and Ribbon to make up all
of the little bags.  Don't you just love it when that happens??!!

Thanks For Stopping By!

Guest Stamper, Carla

Friday, September 14, 2012
My friend, and one of the gals in my down line, Carla, is doing so well
with her card making - selling them before she can stock up even!
She has a great resource through her regular job and her friends are
starting to make requests.
I LOVE IT!!
These are two cards she made when someone requested some
butterfly cards
She used Butterfly Prints Stamp Set on the out side of her card
and Kindness Matters Stamp Set on the inside

I think she did a BEAUTIFUL job!!
Thanks for Sharing, Carla!!
