Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, August 31, 2014
A few months ago our Jessica's grandma went to heaven.  She was very dear to Jessica as they lived next door to one another for several years just prior to Jeff and Jess getting married.  It was in that house that Grandma owned and rented out to Jess where Jeff proposed to Jessica.  Very dear memories!!  We told Jess that we wanted to get her a flower in memory of her grandma and she requested a Forsythia Bush.  Come spring time each year when the bush gets its bright yellow leaves Jessica will be able to remember her grandma.
As soon as we brought it over Jeff planted it.  They had a special spot planned just for it.

Sea Street Birthday

Friday, August 29, 2014
One of the fun new stamp sets in the main catalog is called SEA STREET.  I saw a card design like this one at Convention so I changed up the colors and added a little bling.  The cute little octopus was stamped in Real Red then I smooshed it with Versa Mark and Heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder to give it stability and a little shine too.  Yes, yes, a little fussy cutting of the octopus and then popped it up with a Stampin' Dimensional.
I used the MARITIME Designer Paper, but added some stamped starfish and lobsters.
A fun little birthday card especially for someone who loves the ocean.

No Greater Love

Thursday, August 28, 2014
Another Sneak Peek from the Holiday Catalog and the SEASONALLY SCATTERED stamp set. Who needs to wait until Valentines Day to make a card with Love.
Yes, I had to pull out my favorite Christmas stamp called First Christmas.  I stamped both images on a piece of scrap printer paper, cut around them for a mask and then stamped the front with Woodgrain background stamp (also retired).  For the "no greater" tag I used the ALPHABET rotary stamp. and the tiny little heart is from POINT AND CLICK Project Life.
Tomorrow is the big day when the catalog goes live!!  Do you have your wish list already made out?  Well, I have a deal for you!! Tomorrow is also the LAST DAY to get $150.00 worth of product for only $99.00!!  Contact me for more details or just go HERE to get started, but if you want to order from the Holiday Catalog then wait until tomorrow to sign up.  This a no obligation sign up - you do not need to anything after this except enjoy 20% off all the things you love.  (30% off your first order of $150.00 or more within your first 45 days - must be all on the same order)

It's HERE!!

Wednesday, August 27, 2014
Lookie what I got in the mail yesterday!!  Now this is great snail mail!  All our info, tags, etc for the Washington DC trip.  Hard to believe that it is less than one month away!!  Getting this in the mail makes it feel more real because I am still pinching myself that it is actually true.
Thank you again to everyone who made this first incentive trip possible!
In light of the DC trip I thought I would make a card with a little bit of a patriotic feel without it feeling like Fourth of July(ish).  I based this card on one by Jan Tink, but of course had to change a few things up according to the items I had on hand.
I also wanted to show you the WEEKLY DEALS for August 26- September 1st
A lot of great product here ladies and at a discount! You can shop Stampin' Up! on line anytime just click HERE to get started.

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, August 24, 2014
This summer right after Gracie got out of school she wanted to try a 3 day cheerleading camp put on by the Community Ed program.  Day 1 Grampa brought her and she was rather hesitant to go (even though she asked for it), but when I picked her up 2 hours later she was hooked and had a great time. She couldn't wait to face-time her mom at work and talked with her all the way home.  Gracie definitely wants to be a cheerleader now!  And because she is so small she got to be the "flyer" - a little apprehensive yet, but she will get over it.  Probably the best thing to cure her fears.

 full speed ahead, Gracie!

Go Eagles!!
Now Gracie is selling candy bars to help pay for her Rocket Cheerleading this fall.  Any takers??
Rocket Cheer has already started and Grandpa walked her to the high school and then I walked over later to bring her water bottle to her.  She was sitting with her group - I'm so glad she is loving it!  Can't wait to watch her cheer at a game this fall.

Sweet Saturday

Saturday, August 23, 2014
Last week I was hired to make the cakes for the opening night of WIZARD OF OZ at the Red Barn Theater.  Simple instructions - 4 sheet cakes - chocolate cake, chocolate filling, chocolate frosting.  "I can do that" -
oh, and please decorate one for the WIZARD OF OZ.  OK - a little googling and surfing and shopping - this is what i came up with.
I guess it was a big hit because I already got a new cake client from it!!

Punch Art Class

Thursday, August 21, 2014
Ladies I am having another PUNCH ART CLASS - this month's theme of my Projects Class.
Check out the cute cards you will make...
Along with the 3 cards you will also receive an 8x8 tutorial page to keep for future reference because you KNOW that you are going to want to make some more of these!!
The cute little cow punch art (inspired by a board I saw at Leadership some time ago so I do not know who to give the credit to) was in honor of our home towns Community Fair this week.  I was one of the 4-H judges and I judged several notebooks of kids who were showing their cows this week.
The Elephant...well that needs no explanation because if you watch my blog you know I have a thing for elephants ever since the stamp set (now retired) HENRY SAYS was featured in an Occasions Catalog. He was inspired by Kirsteen Gill who actually created hers using My Digital Studio.  Great job, but I wanted more of a 3-D effect (not all flat to the page).
The Witch was inspired by Patty Bennett some time ago and yes, I am using some retired punches and framelits for these cards.  I tried my best to find alternatives but just couldn't be satisfied with a replacement.  I figured that Halloween is coming up soon so I thought this would be the perfect time to feature her.  I added 2 tickets from the THAT'S THE TICKET stamp set giving it a feel for the production WICKED.  The ladies who come to this class are free to choose from any of my stamps current or retired if they do not want to have the tickets there.
COST: $12.00 - pre pay or pre order ($25 or more) and you will receive a little gift from me. Please RSVP by Monday night so I can have your kit ready for you.

Halloween Card Making Class

Monday, August 18, 2014
My friend Melissa asked me if I would hold a Halloween Card Making Class.  I am not totally INTO Halloween, and yet I am not TOTALLY against it either.  I love the fun parts like trick-or-treating and what kid doesn't want to don a costume to pretend to be something or someone else just for one night. The new Holiday Catalog
goes live on August 28th!! (only 10 more days!!) If you want to get your hands on one of these catalogs I will be happy to get one to you, all in the hopes that you will love it too, and place an order with me!  You can shop Stampin' Up! on line ANY TIME just click HERE to get started
Here are the details of the HALLOWEEN CARD MAKING CLASS
WHEN: Wednesday, September 17th 10:00 AM
WHERE: right here in my craft room.
COST: $10.00 which will include 6 cards (and envelopes) 2 cards each of 3 designs.
This is a card that I made to whet your appetite
This card was cased from the new Holiday Catalog on page 47.  The stamp set is called TEE-HEE-HEE and is a totally clear photopolymer stamp set which is perfect!  Even lining up the little clothespins were a breeze to add.
Let's see how I did this card...
I started with Shimmery White Paper for the base
and using the ink in the LID of my Classic Ink Pad and my AQUA PAINTER I "painted" my sky in Bermuda Bay Ink.  You can let this dry naturally or if you are impatient like me you can use your heat tool on the low setting to dry it before adding any more stamped images.
Then using my trusty PROJECT LIFE Journaling Pen and my handy dandy ruler I marked the clothesline
Now all it was, was a matter of "hanging" my items on the clothesline.  I used Memento Ink for the black items (LOVE this new black ink!)  the witches long johns are stamped using Tangerine Tango classic ink.
The witches dress (?) was stamped on a separate piece of Shimmer White Card stock, cut out by hand (fussy cut) and attached to the line with dimensionals

The reason you use the Shimmery White Card Stock instead of The regular Whisper White Card Stock is because you are adding water to the card and the Shimmery White will hold up better.  First I hung a Tangerine Tango Dress on the line but then realized that in the catalog they used HELLO HONEY and I like that so much better.  I was wondering why mine didn't look quite right.
I made a boo-boo when I was stamping the insides of my cards so had to cut them apart, trim them down and attach them to a Bermuda Bay Card Base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4")
And - Voila`! I like it even better!!  Don't you love it when that happens??
I am not always faithful at stamping my envelopes but I thought the bats looked kind of cute.
SO SIGN UP SOON TO SAVE YOUR SPOT AT MY TABLE!

Thanks for stopping by!
