Treats for Guests

Thursday, January 26, 2017
Being laid up is not the most fun, but what IS fun is that I can hand out special treats to anyone who comes to visit me.  These cute little butterfly treats were made using the CURVY KEEPSAKE BOX DIE, and it holds some yummy, Creamy Almond Ghiradelli Chocolates.
This Valentine themed treat was made using the January 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I chose to step it up by die cutting a heart shaped window and adding a window sheet in the front so that you can see the Valentine Conversation Hearts.  I sealed the treat bag with a staple and then hid that staple with some GOLD SEQUINS and the stamped heart.
Yesterday was Dale's first day back to work since my surgery, but I was fortunate enough that Gracie needed to stay home from school so she was my helper in the morning.  In the afternoon I had a lovely visit with my childhood friend, Phyllis.  Look at this gorgeous, decorative leaf she made.  It measures 17" by nearly 9" wide.  I forgot what type of leaf she started with, but it sure is GORGEOUS!!
My late afternoon doctor appointment went very well.  I got my dressing changed and boy oh boy this is what we saw...
YIKES! that's going to leave a scar! BUT...I am on the road to recovery.  The Plantar Fascia Ligament was removed and so was the bone spur on my heel.  Does it hurt?  OH YEAH! BIG TIME, but I will embrace some down-time and just recover.
